Solutions Exercise-2: Newton's Third Law

This page includes solution part two to exercise two on Newton's Third Law.
Try to solve the exercise and check your answers below.

Exercise:

If a man stands next to a wall on a frictionless skateboard and push the wall with a force of 50 N.
Questions:
  1. How hard does the wall push on man?
  2. If the man's mass is 70 kg, show that your acceleration is 0.71 m/s2.

Answers:

  1. The wall reacts with a force oppsit to the man = − 50 N
  2. Having the mass m = 70 kg, acceleration a = F/m = 50 / 70 = 0.71 m/s2
